Perched on a steep hillside, this retreat house was designed for a family seeking escape from urban life without sacrificing modern comfort. The design minimises site disturbance while maximising the dramatic views, creating a series of interconnected pavilions that step down the slope following the natural contours of the land.
Local stone and weathering steel anchor the building to its site, while expansive glass walls frame specific views of the valley and distant peaks. The layout separates public and private spaces across different levels, with the main living area cantilevered over the slope to create a sense of floating above the landscape. Sustainable systems include geothermal heating and rainwater collection.
A 24-story residential and commercial complex that integrates urban living with nature through cascading gardens and energy-efficient systems.
